How to tune your guitar
Press Start tuner and allow microphone access. Play one open string at a time, close to your phone or laptop. The tuner shows the note you are playing and whether it is flat or sharp. Turn the tuning peg until the needle turns green and centres.
Standard tuning, from the thickest string to the thinnest, is E A D G B E (E2, A2, D3, G3, B3, E4).
Tuning tips
Tune up to the note: if a string is sharp, loosen it slightly below the note and then bring it up. The string holds its pitch better. Tune in a quiet room, let each note ring, and check all six strings again at the end, because tuning one string can slightly change the others.
