K-12 Program

Montessori-led music classes for kids aged 3 to 12.

Our K-12 Programme is music for children, built for how kids actually learn. Montessori-led and playful, it takes children aged 3 to 12 from rhythm games and singing to a first instrument, a first recital and a first graded exam, with interactive assessments so parents can see progress every quarter.

Choosing an instrument

Which instrument is right for my child?

Piano and keyboardThe clearest way to see how music works: every note is laid out in front of you. A strong first instrument for reading and theory.

GuitarFor children who want to strum the songs they love. Builds finger strength, rhythm and chords.

UkuleleFour soft nylon strings and a small body, sized for small hands. Quick early wins make it a happy first instrument.

DrumsFor children with energy to spare. Drums teach timing, coordination and listening to the band.

Western vocalsSinging with healthy technique, pitch and breath, from nursery songs to pop, musicals and choir pieces.

Hindustani vocalsSur and taal from the start: swaras, simple ragas and bhajans, taught in the Indian classical tradition.

Kids music classes: FAQs

What age is the K-12 Programme for?

Ages 3 to 12. Lessons are 30 minutes long, twice a week, so young learners stay focused and look forward to the next class.

Is 3 years old too young to start music?

No. The K-12 Programme is Montessori-led and built for children from age 3, using rhythm games, movement, singing and listening before moving on to an instrument.

Which instruments can my child learn?

Piano, guitar, ukulele, drums, Western vocals and Hindustani vocals. If you are not sure which suits your child, the free demo is the best way to find out.

How often are kids' music classes, and how long is each one?

Twice a week, 30 minutes each: 24 structured lessons every quarter, over 12 weeks.

How will I know my child is progressing?

Every quarter includes interactive assessments and a Student Progress Report, so you can see exactly what your child has learnt and what comes next.

Will my child perform on stage?

Yes. K-12 students perform at our recitals from their very first year. Our juniors played Hard Rock Cafe, New Delhi, in June 2026.

Will my child take music exams?

Each quarter builds on the last and the year ends with a graded exam, for measurable progress. We prepare children for ISoM, Trinity College London, ABRSM and RSL Rockschool.

Are kids' classes one-to-one or in a group?

Both are available. Your Prism school will recommend a format after the free demo, based on your child's age and goals.

Do you teach kids online?

Yes. Most lessons can also run online, and you can switch between the school and online.
