At Origin Story, bass guitar classes run in small groups of up to four students, one class a week, with the same teacher each week. A small group keeps lessons lively and sociable, while your teacher still hears, guides and corrects every student in every class.
Private lessons are rare and depend on teacher availability. If you have a specific goal, tell us at your free demo and we will suggest the best way to reach it.

Exams and performing
Grades if you want them, stages when you are ready
Graded bass exams with RSL (Rockschool) or Trinity Rock & Pop are optional. Origin Story is part of Prism School of Music, with ISoM, RSL and Trinity-affiliated classes, and students can perform at our live shows, five or more a year.

Everything you might ask
Can I learn bass without playing guitar first?
Yes. Bass is a great first instrument, especially if you love grooves and rhythm.
Do I need an amplifier?
A small practice amp or headphones amp is enough at home. We will advise you at your free demo.
How big are the group classes?
Groups have up to four students, so your teacher can listen to and correct each person in every class.
How often are classes?
One class a week, at the same time each week.
Do you offer private lessons?
Most of our students learn in small groups, which we find keeps them motivated. Private lessons are rare and depend on teacher availability: ask us at your free demo.
