Why music for children

What your child gains from music classes in Delhi

Music is one of the few activities that trains the ear, the hands, memory and confidence at the same time. That is why so many parents in South Delhi start their children early.

Focus and memoryLearning a piece means holding a pattern in mind and practising it. Children carry that attention into school work.
CoordinationTwo hands doing different things, eyes reading, ears listening: music trains all of it at once.
ConfidencePlaying for a teacher, then a group, then a real audience builds a quiet kind of courage.
ListeningChildren learn to hear pitch, rhythm and each other, which is the start of real musicianship.
Patience and habitsSmall daily practice, steady progress and the satisfaction of getting something right.
JoyAbove all, music should be fun. Our lessons are playful by design, so children want to come back.

Choosing an instrument

Which instrument is right for my child?

Every child in our K-12 Programme at CR Park learns one main instrument or voice. Here is how parents usually choose. If you are unsure, the free demo lets your child try before you decide.

Piano and keyboardThe clearest way to see how music works: every note is laid out in front of you. A strong first instrument for reading and theory.
GuitarFor children who want to strum the songs they love. Builds finger strength, rhythm and chords.
UkuleleFour soft nylon strings and a small body, sized for small hands. Quick early wins make it a happy first instrument.
DrumsFor children with energy to spare. Drums teach timing, coordination and listening to the band.
Western vocalsSinging with healthy technique, pitch and breath, from nursery songs to pop, musicals and choir pieces.
Hindustani vocalsSur and taal from the start: swaras, simple ragas and bhajans, taught in the Indian classical tradition.

A kids class at Prism South Delhi

30 minutes, twice a week, built for how kids learn

Our K-12 Programme is Montessori-led: children learn by doing, at their own pace, with short activities that keep young minds engaged. Lessons are 30 minutes, twice a week, which is long enough to make progress and short enough to stay fun.

A lesson moves between rhythm games, singing and listening, and time on the instrument itself, with reading basics introduced through play. Every quarter has 24 structured lessons over 12 weeks and ends with interactive assessments, so each step is clear before the next one begins.

Children come to our CR Park school from Chittaranjan Park, Nehru Enclave, Greater Kailash Enclave, Masjid Moth, Greater Kailash II and the neighbourhoods around them. Kids classes run during school hours: Tuesday to Friday: 2:00 to 8:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 am to 8:30 pm. Monday: Closed.
